He’s not only been a regular reader of the Mighty Blog over the years, but he’s also been very helpful to us on a number of occasions.
He is “Uncle Bill” Weisinger, known for his role not only as the volunteer program director of the “Sunday Oldies Jukebox” daypart programming on WSTB/88.9 Streetsboro, but also for his engineering work for stations like WSTB, Kenston High School’s WKHR/91.5 Bainbridge, and Mount Union College’s WRMU/91.1 Alliance.
He’s also the treasurer for SBE local chapter 70.
Recently, he’s been dealing with not RF issues…but cancer issues. OMW hears that Weisinger is being treated for “a cancerous tumor”, and was admitted to the hospital on June 2nd.
Long-time WSTB general manager and Friend of OMW Bob Long tells us that “Uncle Bill” is “in good spirits…alert…eating well…and talkative as always. He expects they will be sending him out to a care center sometime this week.”
Bob notes that the doctor told Bill previously that “he wasn’t going to die from this”, which he found “somewhat humorous”.
Friends of Weisinger have set up a website with a public guestbook, and we’re told he can see it – so return the favor and make him smile.
You can add comments to this item, but we suspect they’ll be more direct at the above site.

And on behalf of OMW Nation, Bill, here’s hoping your recovery is smooth as possible, and that you’re presiding over the Jukebox again soon…
