As promised a week ago, Ohio Media Watch is now officially at its new home: http://ohiomediawatch.wordpress.com/ The original Blogger version of OMW will no longer be updated, and all future posts will be found on the WordPress site. You will still be able to find old posts at ohiomedia.blogspot.com, but no new content. The ohiomediawatch.com domain will now redirect to the WordPress site. That's a change we just put in, and it may take a while to make its way through the Internet. As a … [Read more...]
We’re Moving
OMW is in the process of moving to a new home. We're setting up on the WordPress blogging system, after nearly 5 years on Google's Blogger platform. The address is as simple as our Blogspot address: ohiomediawatch.wordpress.com (Please note that unlike on Blogger, the full name of the blog is in the URL.) We have imported all of our existing posts. We will continue to publish on Blogger for another week or so, maybe sooner, then the old blog will remain "as is" from that point on. … [Read more...]
The Dreaded H-Word
Officially: OMW will be on hiatus until further notice. We have no idea when we may return, and we may be gone the rest of the year.Don't worry about your Primary Editorial Voice(tm)....we're fine, and will be back and raring to drive the Mighty Blog of Fun(tm) at some point. But unlike most of our World Famous Hiatuses, it will take something pretty big to put an update here in the next while. And as last we checked, Dick Goddard and Joe Tait aren't going to call it a career any time soon. … [Read more...]
Quick Update: There She Goes, Here We Are

Yes, it's that time again.OMW is now officially on hiatus until the middle of next week, likely Tuesday or Wednesday. As usual on hiatus, we will try to pass along at least short updates on any major breaking media news stories that we hear about, especially in our core area of Northeast Ohio. That includes, but is not limited to, major radio or TV personality changes, radio format changes, station ownership changes or anything of that nature. We may occasionally pop in via our Twitter feed, but … [Read more...]

Site Issues: Comment Moderation
Effective immediately, all comments will be subject to moderation by your Primary Editorial Voice(tm). They will not be posted until they are specifically approved. No, it's nothing you said. You can blame "Vince", or "Julie", or whatever name our resident comment spammer has been going by this week. He/she/they/it have/has been leaving roughly a half-dozen to a dozen comment spams each morning, pushing some sort of scam linked in the signature file of the messages. And it's now added "spam … [Read more...]
Joining the Twitter World
OMW has been continuously updated since June 2005 (give or take a short hiatus or ten), so if you're new here, you're forgiven if you think we've been around forever. In fact, when announcing the start of OMW on one of the various message boards, we joked that we were "the last on earth to start a blog", and wondered if some household pets had beaten us to the blogging punch.Fast forward to today, and we wonder if we're the last on earth to Twitter.Starting our Twitter account today, we think we … [Read more...]
