New Vision CBS affiliate WKBN/27 Youngstown has found a new co-anchor for Dave Sess on their 6:00PM and 11:00PM broadcasts, after Whitney Ward left the station last month to be closer to family in her native Washington (joining KEPR-TV Pasco in the process). Daytimer gospel WINW/1520 Canton wasn't able to turn on their transmitter at all back on Friday morning, and was off the air for several days thereafter, the victim of copper thievery. The Canton Repository's police blotter noted that at some point between Thursday night and Friday morning, someone broke into their transmitter facility at 4100 Martindale Road, cut several tower cables and stole the copper from the transmitter building. Both physical and format moves dominate our item this evening... BACK HOME AGAIN: An Akron market radio station is back in Summit County this week. And we found out because readers as far north as the Slavic Village area of Cleveland - just south of downtown - are reporting a much stronger signal out of Clear Channel hot AC WKDD/98.1.
